Category:Boeing 757 by line number (1000–9999) and 2 subcats
[edit]- Hi, I don't understand why you changed the title of these cats. They are now out of sync with every other line number category. I would be grateful if you could revert these cats and their contents to what is the standard format. Ardfern (talk) 13:46, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- Because the dash is used for intervals, while the hyphen is used for e.g. coordination. In "Boeing 757-200 by line number (1000–9999)", the hyphen in 757-200 tells us that it's 757 with the number 200 added to it, whereas "1000–9999" instead refers to the sequence of numbers 1000 through 9999.
- The hyphen is by no means standard. They are still two different characters. One is correct, while the other is not. It's no more complicated than a spelling mistake.
- I can move the other categories too, so that everything is consistent, but I will not reintroduce the error.
