Lorna V is an award-winning writer, educator, performer. She recently embarked on a PhD investigating migrant heritage and mental health at Queen Mary University of London, following on from an MSc in Creative Arts and Mental Health. Her background is a career in journalism for national newspapers and magazines which led to and three business psychology books for Psychologies Magazine. Lorna was born in London and spent part of her childhood in Famagusta, her family’s town, until she and her parents were forcibly displaced during the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus.
Lorna Vassiliades sets up new rituals of remembrance and autoethnographically examines how displacement, nostalgia and identity interact with a key kitchen object.
