OUR Project

GREEK &
GREEK-CYPRIOT
GASTRONOMY
IN LONDON
AN ETHNOGRAPHY

Thanks to the generous support of the Heritage Lottery Fund and in collaboration with Eyes Wide OpenGreek and Greek-Cypriot Gastronomy in London: an Ethnography explored, for the first time, the culinary heritage of London’s Greek and Greek-Cypriot community. The project recorded the memories of a community whose identity is intrinsically connected to food and which continues to be an integral part of London’s vibrant and diverse food culture.

Greek and Greek-Cypriot Gastronomy in London: an Ethnography traces the reasons and history behind the relocation and re-establishment of this community in London. The video and photographic documentations of the Greek and Greek-Cypriot community’s heritage and gastronomic traditions will be shared with the Layers of London and housed at the Greek Diaspora Archive at King’s College London.
